Arrival Options to Yosemite (Firefall Ranch)
You have multiple airport options to choose from, depending on their preferences, flight availability, and comfort with driving or shuttle options.
Option 1: San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
Overview
Distance to Firefall Ranch: ~170 miles
Drive Time: ~4.5 to 5.5 hours (can vary with traffic)
Route: Take I‑580 E → I‑205 E → Highway 120 E through Oakdale and Groveland
Landscape: Starts urban/suburban, transitions to rolling hills and forested mountain roads. The last ~90 minutes are mountainous and scenic.
Climate & Driving Conditions (Late April)
Expect mild spring weather in SF (~60s°F), warming as you move inland.
In the foothills and Yosemite region: ~60–75°F daytime, cooler at night.
Roads are generally clear in spring, but some mountain roads may still be winding or steep, so drive carefully.
Car Rental Costs (Estimated)
4–5 day rental (mid-size SUV or sedan): $300–$450 total, depending on availability and provider. Renting is recommended if you prefer flexibility or plan to explore the park before/after the retreat.
Option 2: Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) ideal for out of state travelers
Overview
Distance to Firefall Ranch: ~95 miles
Drive Time: ~2 to 2.5 hours
Flights: Common arrival time from NYC or Miami is around 12 PM

Transportation Options from Fresno
Included Shuttle Pickup
A complimentary shuttle will be arranged for those flying into Fresno at the standard arrival time (~12 PM).
This is the most convenient, hands-free option.
Car Rental (Optional)
A good option if you’d like to explore outside of retreat hours.
4-day rental estimate: 💰 $200–$350, depending on car type.
Driving is easier and shorter than from San Francisco, with fewer elevation changes and less traffic.
Option 3: Sacramento International Airport (SMF)
Overview
Distance to Firefall Ranch: ~150 miles
Drive Time: ~3.5 to 4.5 hours
Pros: Typically less traffic than San Francisco
Cons: Fewer flight options than SFO or FAT
Why choose Sacramento?
Great for those who want to avoid Bay Area congestion.
Similar terrain and scenery to the SF drive — you’ll still get the foothills and mountain transitions.
